Molded into the plastic grip is the existing "checkered" front and rear grip straps that helps establish a firm grip for the palm and fingers. Also aiding the shooter’s grip is a pair of textured rubber side panels. The trigger guard also has the same checkered pattern to rest the supportive hand’s index finger. The ingenious trigger safety on the 17 is faithful to the real firearm. In this case, the trigger finger must engage a lever that is integrated into the trigger before the trigger can start it’s full movement rearward to fire. Without engaging this lever, the trigger remains locked and will not move. Other advantages in the lower receiver are front and back recesses in the lower grip near the magazine well. These recesses assist in removing the magazine. Like the real firearm, this airsoft replica has all firing components enclosed in the slide doing away with the need for exterior moving parts such as a hammer. Medium in power with good sights, this airsoft gun is very accurate.
